Word Trail is a word ladder. You start with one four-letter word and finish with another, and every rung in between must be a real word that differs from the one above it by exactly one letter.
It takes a minute or two, it is free to play, and a fresh trail is printed in the paper every morning. If a rung refuses to cooperate there are two nudges available: reveal a letter, or reveal the whole word.
